Cafe Martinique was recommended to us on a recent trip to Atlantis Bahamas. We were a little worried as we aren't fans of French food - at least French food that comes out in itsy bitsy portions.
2 extremely friendly waiters arrived promptly to say hello, introduce themselves and then share the specials with us. The service throughout the night was spectacular!
We wanted to share an appetizer, the shrimp, and they said no problem, they would plate it in the kitchen for us. To me that is how it should be done in a fine dining establishment, but you don't always find it that way.
I ordered the Grouper and Warren ordered the Salmon. I have to say that the Grouper was possibly the best Grouper I have ever had. Warren also enjoyed his salmon. We decided to splurge on dessert (not something we do often) and I had my favorite Bananas Foster and Warren had a Lemon tart.
When we were done we realized that we had only been there for about an hour. We didn't' feel rushed though so we didn't worry to much about it (at some of the other restaurants we did feel rushed).
The dinner was expensive (although comparable to a fine dining dinner in New York or Las Vegas), but was probably one of the best dinners we had at the Atlantis. Make sure you make a reservation in advance, otherwise you may not get in. Cafe Martinique is a great option for a wonderful romantic dinner or for a special occasion.
If you are visiting Atlantis in the Bahamas, make sure you don't miss Cafe Martinique!
Beautiful hotels, some of the worlds best restaurants, incredible shopping, central park and of course Broadway. What could be more romantic for a vacation in the USA?
