This budget minded hotel is located on the edge of the Wan Chai/Causeway Bay area of Hong Kong Island. While the location is excellent, keep in mind that this is a quintessential budget minded hotel. Some reports on TripAdvisor say it is cozy but dated.
The Charterhouse Hotel is a 3-10 minute walk to the Times Square shopping mall, The Convention & Exhibition Centre, the Wan Chai and Causeway Bay shopping areas, the MTR, the Golden Bauhinia Square, the Happy Valley Race Course and many other attractions. Most other attractions are within a 10 - 20 minute taxi ride.

This hotel ranked #135 and 3 1/2 stars for hotels on Tripadvisor, with over 200 reviews. The majority of the reviews were "Very Good" however there are many reviews that are "average" or "poor". As with any hotel, do your research to ensure it is somewhere you would like to stay.
The good thing about this hotel, is that the management takes their guests concerns and accolades very seriously. They respond to every review on Tripadvisor. That is something you don't see very often.
The rooms are quite small, and you can choose from an economy single room, superior room, deluxe room or a suite. Most people recommend that you upgrade to the Signature Floor for more room and services.
The Charterhouse Hotel Hong Kong is a great idea for budget minded people when visiting this expensive world class city. The rooms may be too small for families.

When planning your trip, do not miss the Victoria Peak Tram. Make sure that you choose a nice clear day to see the beauty of Hong Kong Island, Victoria Harbour, and Kowloon.
