Besides gambling in the casinos, there are many things to do on a romantic vacation in the Detroit are. Visit the Spa at the MGM for some pampering, or check out the nightlife. Take a walk along the Detroit River, or visit the other casinos in the area.
Dine in a signature restaurant, or find some great shopping areas. There is something for everyone in the Detroit casinos.
The MGM Grand and Motor City have recently rebuilt their properties and added more rooms and fabulous dining experiences.
If you want to check another casino property other than the Windsor Casino, cross the river to see the all new MGM Grand.
The new $800 Million Luxury MGM Grand Detroit opened in October of 2007. It is the first of it's kind in the core of a major metropolitan center in the USA.
When you walk into the Casino you feel like you walked into a casino in Las Vegas. They have done a good job creating that type of atmosphere.
They have all the casino gaming you could imagine, include the High Limit areas, a separate poker room, and slots, slots and more slots. They also have a few table games that I have not seen before.
The hotel has 420 rooms and suites all in the luxury you would imagine an MGM property would have. There is a concierge level and many types of suites. The property hosts the Immerse Spa, a full service Salon, a fitness center and pool.
The dining options at the MGM Grand include: Wolfgang Pucks Grille, Saltwater (Seafood dining experience), and Bourbon Steak. We ate at Wolfgang Pucks Grille and it was exquisite. We HIGHLY recommend it. Next time we will try one of the other 2 restaurants that the casino host was recommending.
MGM Grand Detroit has won several awards, including the Metro Times Best Casino in 2009 and 2010.

Motor City has recently reopened and their 400 luxury guestrooms and suites, added some new restaurants. They have a rewards program and a few nightclubs. Motor City also puts on a light show each evening over the skyline of Detroit.
Greektown, located in Greektown in Detroit, is also expanding and due to open the new areas by January 2009. It is connected to the people mover elevated rail line, so it is easy to access downtown. Fine Dining at the Alley Grille Steakhouse and in the middle of Greektown, you are sure to find somewhere great to eat.
