Hop on Hop Off Tours in Singapore
When Warren and I hit a new city to visit, we try to catch a hop on hop off tour in the city so we can get a feel for the city and finish planning the rest of our stay. Sometimes they are worth it, sometimes not so much. These tours I think are worth it especially if you don't have a lot of time in the destination.
We purchased our tickets before we left Toronto, as I knew that I wanted to see the city this way. There were a lot of areas that I wanted to see, and not necessarily explore, while there were others that I did want to spend time in. It also gave me something to do while Warren was in the casino (he joined me for some of it but not all of it).
For an expensive city, this Hop on Hop off tour was reasonably priced. I looked through the tours on Viator and found the Hop On Hop off tour. So we bought it before we left home.
Hop on Hop Off Tours in Singapore - Our Experience
We weren't sure where to catch the bus, as I didn't look it up (silly me) so asked at the Fairmont, where we were staying. The concierge said that we could catch it right outside of the hotel in front of the Raffles hotel. So off we went.
It was a really hot day, but the bus showed up about 10 minutes later. They arrive at each stop about every 30 minutes or so.
The bus driver was extremely friendly and told us what to do with our vouchers. He said that we should hold on to them and at the next stop (Sun Tec City) we could trade them in for our tickets. Fair enough.
When we arrived at SunTec city there were many tour buses, and Duck Tour buses, but it was very easy to figure out where to go and the check in agent was very helpful and friendly.
We had purchased the 3 tour pass with a river tour included. It gave us the City tour, the Heritage Tour and the Original Tour. We decided to start with the City Tour. The next day, while Warren was at the Marina Bay Sands Casino, I did the Heritage Tour as well.
It was really hot in July when we were there. So it made it almost unbearable to go on the open aired top of the double Decker bus. We would mostly stay below in the air conditioned part of the bus. Here are some photos of our tours.
The Hop On Hop Off tours are a great vacation idea for families or couples when visiting this city.
